Accessibility

We aim to make every customer's visit to the Playhouse as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. Please advise us of your needs at the time of booking and we will do everything we can to help.

Playhouse foyer entrance

There is on street car parking outside the building, and accessible parking spaces are available in the Westgate car park, almost opposite our entrance.

Access to the Playhouse has two small stone steps via the main door. We also have a level side entrance for wheelchair users or anyone unable to manage the steps, just ask our Front of House staff, and we'd be happy to oblige.

The gallery seating in the Playhouse auditorium is accessible via a staircase; sadly there is no lift.

The front row of the stalls (row A) has seating which can be removed to accommodate up to six wheelchairs. Before booking please contact us if you require a wheelchair space so we can ensure there is room to accommodate you.

Except for row A, the stalls seating is raked and reached by steps. Row B is two steps up, Row C a further step up etc.

We have an accessible toilet available for customers in a wheelchair.

To enhance the sound quality for those with hearing difficulties our theatre is fitted with an induction loop. Please turn your hearing aid to the ‘T’ position.

If you have any queries about access or would like any further advice, please don't hesitate to contact us via our contact page. When attending performances, our Front of House staff will be on hand and more than happy to assist when you - please ask if you would like any assistance.
