At Sleaford Little Theatre's recent AGM George and Hilary Shields officially step down from Committee work after over 20 years. George hands over the mighty task of Treasurer and amongst those 20 plus years he has also been Playhouse Manager. Hilary, George's wife, also steps down from Selection Committee Convenor and previously has been SLT's Hon. Secretary.

The Sleaford Museum Trust is pleased to be presenting 'Sleaford's Georgian Gem' - the history and development of The Playhouse and Sleaford Little Theatre delivered by long serving  SLT member and Treasurer George Shields on Tuesday 12 March 2013.

The evening commences at 7.30pm at St Deny's Church Room, Market Place, Sleaford.

Save St Peters from closure

St. Peter’s Theatre in Southsea is under threat of closure, and unless action is taken now, this beautiful theatre will be lost forever. It is one of only six amateur theatres in the UK with a fly tower (for flying backcloths and scenery). It is regularly used by many local theatre groups including three theatre schools, one of which (Victoryland Theatre School) is based at the theatre.

Playhouse plans to go back to Georgian roots

A historic theatre has been granted thousands of pounds to restore it back to its former glory.

Sleaford Playhouse, one of just two Georgian playhouse buildings in the country, has been awarded a £5,000 grant by the Theatres Protection Fund’s Small Grants Scheme to restore the building to its Georgian roots.
